Nautilus

Grateful for the daily gift of eyesight and hands which allow me to sculpt glass.  Not many people are aware, but I experienced a horrible eye injury this past year. Everything is good now, however a few millimeters and things would have been very different. What are you thankful for?

Lost Coast

Being a home body, I find pleasure in friends' stories of travel and adventure.  "Lost Coast" was inspired by such an occasion.  The picturesque photo captured by a friend set the scene.  Waves of vibrant blue crashing against the weather beaten shoreline.  Windswept cliffs dotted with delicate purple wildflowers which overlooked the torrent below.  The salty mist of ocean spray softening nature's canvas.  Earth, water, and wind in a ballet of sorts.

Lifeguard on Duty

The temperature hit a whopping 85'F this past Friday.  Soon it will be time for the 3 B's...  Beach Balls, Babes in Bikinis, and Bikram Yoga.  Ok, maybe the last "B" is a bit of a stretch.  Get it?...  Stretch?!  Hope you have a nice #SundayPunday.

Narwhal

A wise person once said, "Always be yourself, unless you can be a Narwhal.  Then always be a Narwhal."  Truly words to live by. #SeaUnicorn

Beach Babe

Sun, surf, and sand!
Enjoying a much needed vacation, Roxie is soaking up rays while sporting stylish sunglasses.  One has to admit, a guinea pig's life is pretty tough...  being pampered daily, fresh veggie treats, and constant human adoration.  Sometimes a piggy just needs a break from the daily grind.  Good thing Ricardo Flamingo is there to help apply sunscreen and freshen up her lemonade.

Soda Lime Times - July 2016

Hope you are having a wonderful Summer.  If you are looking for some fun fish themed projects, check out the July issue of Soda Lime Times. The featured artist is none other than the immensely talented Deb Crowley.  Looking forward to exploring tutorials by Diane Woodall and Corina Tettinger.  Goldie will be making her tutorial debut.  Enjoy!

"Goldie" look-a-like tutorial in the July Issue

Summer Fling

Why do Summer romances fade?  Maybe because the conversation was one sided... or maybe one partner prefers pineapple shaved ice over coconut flavor.  One thing is for sure, the relationship was never the same after a sporty, beach volleyball entered the picture.  C'est la vie!

Shell Shopping

When a hermit crab chooses a new shell, is it similar to taking kids shoe shopping?  Does the little critter compare style, color, fit, and comfort?  I would surely hope so.  Nothing worse than being seen in an out of season conch shell on Venice Beach... the fashion horror!

Catching some Rays

The little guy would be right at home in an elaborate beach scene staged inside an Altoid's tin.  Another thing to add to my "To Do" project list.

Do I have Something in my Teeth?

The age old question which plagues men and animals:  "Do I have something in my teeth?"
Parsley, pepper, cilantro, or the walrus's personal favorite fish!

Down by the Seashore

An ocean themed, changeable cabochon can easily be place on a pendant, ring or bracelet setting.  Compatible with the Sunset Blvd and Jetage systems.  The ultra smooth back would also allow the cab to be set into a bezel or another metalworking project... because who wouldn't want a pet crab as a sidekick???  Or how about a baby sea turtle?

1 Day until the National Bead Challenge Day!

"Alright, which one of you flatfoots stole my lollipop."  These silly guys are headed to Beads of Courage.  Hoping they bring a smile to some special kids.

Jetty

A variation based on the stepping stone design.  The new Effetre Avorio Lapis is the perfect blue to compliment the ocean themed color scheme.
