Glass Bead Evolution Volume 3 Issue 4

The recent issue of the Glass Bead Evolution features some great information.  I especially enjoyed reading the article on tank safety written by Robert Simmons, Ph.D.  David Orr's helpful tips regarding photography were fantastic.  The issue also included many other fabulous artists.  Hope you enjoy the Indigo Plume design tutorial on page 34.  All the best, Heather

Upstream

Sometimes parenting feels similar to a fish swimming upstream.
The strong current pulling and pushing, the journey forward can be challenging at times.
Large outcrops of boulders occasionally block the swift water to grant a moment of respite.
Onward, forward, finding the strength to swim.  Upstream.

Lucky Zombie's Toe No.2

More lucky than the cliché rabbit's foot.  Also, the perfect gift to tell that special someone, "Hey, time to schedule a pedicure."  Delightfully gross, if there is such a thing...  enjoy!

Mermaid Lore

Mermaid Lore No.1

Mermaid Lore No.2

The design "Rising from the Deep" didn't seem to pop like my original sketch.  After a bit of rethinking, I settled on black stringer work to create the mermaid scene.  Enjoy!

Cell Structure

A design from class.  Working on a set for a microscope series.  Enjoy!

Hodge-Podge Necklace

A Hodge-Podge of Beads. The entire set includes 31 colorful beads and measure 18+ inches in length. The total flame time: 10 hours (not including cane and stringer prep).  It even includes a sweet duck in the upper left corner.  Totally clipped him out of the photograph on accident.  Love how the necklace turned out!

Shades of Blue

The dotted beads emerged from the kiln this morning.  I thought they looked lovely paired with one of my favorite enamel designs.  Enjoy!

Shimmer No.1

A shimmery set of example beads for an upcoming class on dots and stringers.  I will be making room in the glass cabinet for some limited edition runs, a few odd lot bundles and refilling some favorite colors.  Very sunny, bright and happy, opposite of the colors in a recent set:  cool, crisp, and clean.
