Monarchs in the Moonlight

Comes on a 16 inch sterling silver chain.
Hands down, the best monarch encased bead that has come out of my studio.
I will be sad to see him go.  Enjoy!

Metamorphosis No. 6

Before moving to Arizona, my fence was enveloped by climbing milkweed called Honeyvine. The hungry caterpillars would munch and munch and munch until an amazing metamorphosis occurred. I would check on them daily until the Monarchs emerged from their chrysalis and spread their delicate wings. A treasured memory that inspires me to this day.

New Snaps - Ladybug

A ladybug has joined the snap cab family.
Limited by the size of the cab being approximately 16mm in diameter,
I wasn't sure if the minute detail would fix.  This little guy makes me smile.  Hope he brightens your day!

Update: Dance of the Butterflies

An array of butterfly slider beads are in the kiln.
Looking forward to seeing their final colors in the morning.

Update:  a few beads from last night are pictured below.  Happy with how they turned out.

Azure Wings

I'm not a jewelry maker by any means.  Give me a rod of glass, torch, and lock me in the studio any day over the task of creating a jewelry design.  Props to the talented designers who do this on a daily basis.  You are my heroes!

Butterfly Snaps

Butterfly Snaps featuring Jackie Gundelfinger's amazing murrini. The snaps will be available to purchase in the fundraising area @ the ISGB Gathering.  Stop by her facebook page to order her wonderful murrini to add a bit of flash to your next flamework project.

The Whimsy of Jackie Gundelfinger

Beautiful murrini by Jackie Gundelfinger. A fantastic treat in a gift packet for students enrolled in the upcoming workshop I'm teaching at Mesa Arts Center. Truly miniature works of art.

Chrysalis No. 2

Found this beauty in my garden kiln.   It will be a long wait for this monarch to appear.  Enjoy!

Emerging: Amber Chrysalis

Color testing CiM Primavera Ltd.  A lovely pale mint green.  Slightly lighter than 50's Kitchen Ltd.

Monarch Emerging

The glass chrysalis is slightly larger than 1:1 scale.  Very happy with how the focal turned out.  Definitely a conversation piece.  Enjoy!

Prized Rose

Gearing up for class next week.  The break has been nice, but I'm excited to be able to share my Tuesday nights with a talented group of friends at the Mesa Arts Center.

A few samples for students to create beads of their own.
