A Splash of Color

This citrus green pull is fresh from the kiln.
The functional accent piece adds a splash of color to any light or fan.

Twister the Ferret

This little guy is trouble with a capital "T"!  His day consists of chasing, exploring, and reverse engineering everything in sight.  If he could talk, his favorite word would be, "mine".

Flying Ace - Guinea Pig Paperweight

Move over Red Baron, there's a new aviator in town.  Ace is geared up to fly loop-d-loops in his barnstormer's cap and goggles... maybe even dust some crops!

Rub-a-dub-dub

Good news:  Kooter is finally out of the dress-up clothes and into a lukewarm bubble bath.  His trusty rubber ducky is waiting nearby.  ~QuAcK~  Hope the furry fellow doesn't forget to wash behind his oversized ears!

Death's Head Moth

Death's Head moth is also known as a European hawk moth (Acherontia atropos), which bears the markings resembling a human skull on its thorax.  The final design logistics and color choices came together after 3 months of revising sketches.  Once the decisions were made, the stringer prep time became the quick part of the process.  Flameworking the cabochon was an undertaking to say the least.  After 3.5 hours of work and approximately 1050 rotations with my left hand, the cabochon is complete.  At one point, I questioned my hand's strength to continue on.   Relieved once the final flame polish was complete and the cabochon entered the hot kiln.

Blasting Off

Earth below us drifting, falling
Floating weightless, calling, calling home.

Love the remake by Shiny Toy Guns:

Jetty

A variation based on the stepping stone design.  The new Effetre Avorio Lapis is the perfect blue to compliment the ocean themed color scheme.

Dia de los Muertos 2014

I wanted to design a festive Dia de los Muertos necklace kit for class.  After 9 sketches, I finally settled on this design featuring an adorable lampwork sugar skull.  Counting down the days until class on October 7th at the Mesa Arts Center.  If all works out, I will be demoing the sugar skull at the M.A.C. Fall Festival.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
