Beyond the southern tip of Tonto National Forest, lies Lost Dutchman State Park and the Superstition Mountains. Beautiful sites fill one's view while snaking through the rugged mountain trails. The paths are lined with granite and volcanic rock. A "rolling thunder" of seismic activity resonated by the canyon walls can occasionally be heard in the most quiet of moments. Native birds dart in and out of the abundant brush covered desert canvas. The lively flats are lined with aster, buckwheat, hopbush, and my personal favorite, ocotillo. The hike was lovely. I did save enough energy to clean some encased floral freebies upon arriving home. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
